Since the start of Live Rite over 9 years ago, our organization has been helping people in
recovery and their families who have been affected by substance use disorder by providing
services both through our Recovery Resource Center and in the community. We strive to
reduce the stigma and provide resources, education, and funding to the person and their families
seeking recovery from active addiction.

Our community has been severely impacted by the opioid crisis. In 2018, the total drug-related
deaths increased by 2.11% from the year before, according to the Macomb County Medical
Examiner’s Office annual report. The report showed the number of drug-related deaths in
Macomb County has continued to increase since 2011, totaling over 2,300 in the last nine
years. With death and crime rates at an all-time high, the availability of resources to people in
recovery is more important than ever.

Since the opening of our Recovery Resource Center in Roseville in May 2019, Live Rite has
serviced over 9,300 people, provided 136 families with food assistance, placed 153 individuals
in a job with our staffing program, given 157 vouchers for our resale shop, and held 836
meetings and classes.

Our Recovery Resource Center services include:

Classes and meetings are offered weekly to our house residents, their families, and the community. If you or someone you know struggles with substance use disorder, these services are available and can be found at www.liveritestructuredcorp.com. In 2011, President Brenda Maks started Live Rite Properties to help individuals in recovery become self-supporting, productive members of society by providing Sober Living homes. Now, Live Rite operates 9 sober living homes in Mount Clemens, Fraser, Eastpointe, Saint Clair Shores, and Warren that give individuals the accountability, support system, and structure needed to live a sober life.

Each month, people in the community and the families of those in recovery are encouraged to come to our events and fundraisers. Our two big events in August include our Children’s Day on August 19 and our Yoga Fundraiser on August 25. More information can be found on the Live Rite Corp Recovery Resource Center Facebook page. The support of the community during events like these are what allow Live Rite to continue to service those in need. Substance use disorder is a disease that affects a person’s brain and behavior. Substance use disorder is not a choice. We strive to make a difference every day in the community. We are fighting for our loved ones and your loved ones and helping those in need take that critical first step towards recovery. Through our doors there is hope, there is recovery, and there is a new life.
