On May 29, Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel announced the launch of a new website, www.MakeMacombYourHome.com (or www.mmyh.org), designed to market Macomb County as a top choice to live, work and play. The website offers visitors easy access to a number of resources for doing business in the county, including a link to the Macomb County Chamber website, as well as a recreational events calendar and even real estate listings all in one place.

To help promote the new website and brand, the Macomb County Chamber helped to sponsor two billboards in Macomb County–one on Hall Road near Van Dyke in Sterling Heights and another in Warren at I-696 and Sherwood. A third billboard is situated on I-75 in northern Michigan, to catch the eye of travelers to this week’s Mackinac Policy Conference.

It’s all part of an effort to capitalize on the momentum occuring in the county, including significant job creation and population growth. In the past 15 months, Macomb has added more than 16,800 jobs (and an estimated 19 new residents per day in 2011).

“We hope that this brand can do for Macomb County what the Pure Michigan campaign has done for our state from an economic development standpoint,” said Macomb Chamber CEO Grace Shore. “It is important for our leadership to identify the wealth of business resources we have here in Macomb County and to market it as a fantastic place to do business. We’re excited to be a part of this cohesive effort to get the word out about the unsung value of Macomb  to help retain and attract new business.”
