Beaumont Hospital, Troy Celebrating 40 years in the Community

In 1977, Beaumont opened a new 200-bed hospital on rural farmland in Troy in response to the health care needs of a growing community. Today, Beaumont Hospital, Troy has grown to 520 licensed beds and offers a comprehensive array of health care services, continuing to develop to meet the needs of the growing communities it serves.

As a verified Level II trauma center by the American College of Surgeons, a trauma surgeon is available within 15 minutes at all times and a team of specialists quickly respond.

“When a trauma case comes through our doors, it brings together staff from all departments who work together to save lives and care for patients and their families,” said Nancy Susick, president, Beaumont Hospital, Troy.

In the latest U.S. News and World Report ‘Best Hospitals’ rankings, Beaumont Hospital, Troy ranked No. 6 in Michigan, No. 4 in Metro Detroit and earned “high performing” rankings in six medical specialties: Diabetes & Endocrinology; Gastroenterology & GI Surgery; Geriatrics; Neurology & Neurosurgery; Orthopedics; and Pulmonology.

Although the hospital has more than doubled its size in the past 40 years, the focus to serve patients and their families remains clear.
