Six of Macomb County’s finest were inducted into the Macomb Hall of Fame at an event that was filled with fun, laughter and tenderness. The honorees were Congressman Sander Levin – US Congressman, George C. Steeh – Retired Judge, Honorable George C. Steeh, III – US District Court, Major General Kurt Stein – US Army TACOM, Honorable Mark Switalski – Chief Judge Macomb County and Maggie Varney – Founder and CEO of Wigs 4 Kids.
Each honoree was inducted for their individual contributions to Macomb County whether in business life, politics or through charitable acts. “The Macomb Hall of Fame is the premiere event for Macomb County’s business community.” said Grace Shore, CEO of the Macomb County Chamber, the foundation’s sister organization. “The members of the Macomb County Chamber are proud to recognize these exceptional men and women through our foundation. They truly make Macomb County a better place to live and work.”
The Macomb Foundation has induced fifty area leaders during the first ten years of Macomb Hall of Fame. The Foundation works closely with business, civic and non-profit organizations to explore, plan and implement programs designed to broaden the role Macomb County plays in the life of southeast Michigan and the state’s overall economy. It also supports many of the county’s community-based organizations through a network of program sharing and support.
