Father and son team, Bill and Matt Jarvis of Jarvis Property Restoration, will be the featured speakers at the Secrets of My Success: Conversations with Entrepreneurs on Wednesday, March 8 at 8:30 am at Premier Center in Clinton Township.
The event is part of a series hosted by the Macomb County Chamber. Speakers share their business philosophies and offer valuable lessons from their own experience. Jarvis has been in business in Macomb County since 1979.
In 1979, after years of working in the painting industry, Bill and Sheryl Jarvis started Jarvis Painting Inc., providing painting services to commercial and residential properties throughout the metro Detroit area. In 1985, Bill expanded his company into the insurance restoration industry focusing on fire and water damage repairs. Currently, Jarvis employs over 100 employees with their headquarters located in Macomb County Michigan. They have multiple offices strategically located throughout Southeast Michigan and Florida.
“We have a wealth of knowledge in Macomb County on how to grow a business,” said Grace Shore, Macomb County Chamber CEO. “This series is a wonderful opportunity for entrepreneurs who have found success to share what they’ve learned with other small business owners.”
Jarvis responds nationally to catastrophic situations, which has included Hurricanes Katrina, Charlie, Francis, Jean and Sandy. Additionally, Jarvis assisted in the emergency clean up and structure drying of over 29 city and county buildings in Cedar Rapids, Iowa following a major historic flood in the summer of 2008. To date Jarvis has completed over $1 billion in projects, owns over 300,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse space including 125 first responder vehicles, multiple commercial desiccant dehumidifiers, trailer mounted generators, a fleet of semi-trailers with equipment and supplies ready to respond at any given time.
