Candidate Ratings for 2026 General Election

Macomb County Chamber Releases

for 2026 General Election

Evaluations assess candidates’ qualifications and understanding of issues affecting the local business community

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (Oct. 23, 2026) — The Macomb County Chamber, the leading advocate for small and large businesses throughout Macomb County, has released its candidate ratings for the 2026 general election, offering voters insight into candidates’ qualifications and their understanding of issues affecting Macomb County’s business community.

The bipartisan evaluation process was conducted by Macomb Advocacy for Business (MAB), a subsidiary of the Macomb County Chamber, through a questionnaire and interview process focused on economic development, the business environment and the future of Macomb County.

“The decisions made by elected officials have a direct impact on our local businesses and the communities they serve,” said Kelley Lovati, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Macomb County Chamber. “Through this process, we have an opportunity to learn more about the candidates, their understanding of the issues facing our business community and how they would approach those challenges if elected. We hope these evaluations provide voters with useful information as they make their decisions in November.”

Candidates who completed the evaluation process received qualification ratings based on their responses and understanding of issues affecting the local business community. Candidates who did not participate or complete the process were not rated.

The Chamber uses five rating categories: Not Qualified, Minimally Qualified, Qualified, Well Qualified and Preferred. The Preferred designation is used in conjunction with Qualified or Well Qualified to indicate the Chamber’s preference among candidates seeking the same office. Candidates who did not complete the evaluation process were not assigned qualification ratings.
