Industry Day Highlights Opportunities at Selfridge

The Macomb County Chamber was proud to partner with Macomb County Planning and Economic Development, the Selfridge Base Community Council, the Michigan Office of Defense & Aerospace Innovation and the Macomb Regional APEX Accelerator for the recent Selfridge Industry Day.
Held at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, the event offered companies guidance on bidding for upcoming infrastructure improvement projects tied to the Air Force’s $1 billion investment to support the arrival of the F-15EX Eagle II and KC-46 Pegasus aircraft missions.
“The role of the Macomb County Chamber is to help keep the business community informed and connected to these opportunities as the process moves forward,” said Kelley Lovati, president and CEO of the Macomb County Chamber. “This is an exciting opportunity for Macomb County businesses to get involved and make an impact close to home.”
During the event, representatives from Macomb County Public Works and the Department of Roads, the Army Corps of Engineers, Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget and APEX shared details on anticipated projects, contracting requirements and how businesses can position themselves to pursue government contracting opportunities.
The planned improvements, expected to take place over the next five years, will create opportunities for companies in construction, engineering, infrastructure, environmental services, logistics, technology, skilled trades and other related industries.
The Chamber remains committed to supporting Selfridge Air National Guard Base and helping connect local businesses to opportunities generated by this historic investment in Macomb County. To learn more about Mission Next and view additional opportunities, visit www.selfridgemissionnext.com.
