Free early Christmas Eve dinner offered to veterans and those in need

A free early Christmas Eve dinner is being offered to local veterans and anyone in need. The catered roasted turkey dinner will include mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet corn, cornbread, soft drinks and coffee. Pizza will also be available. Boston Market will be catering the meals at a reduced rate, as the meals are sponsored by local attorneys, local Macomb Chamber of Commerce members, and other people of goodwill in the community.

The dinner will take place Tuesday, December 24 from 2-5 pm at the REC BOWL in downtown Mount Clemens (40 Crocker Boulevard Mt. Clemens, Ml 48043).
Macomb County Executive Mark A. Hackel, Sheriff Anthony Wickersham, and several local judges will help serve the meal. Confirmed judges include Hon. Mark Switalski, Hon. Rachel Rancilio, Hon. Jacob Femminineo, Hon. Steve Sierawski, Hon. Aliyah Hakim, Hon. Annemarie Lepore, and Hon. James Maceroni.
About a dozen local attorneys are sponsoring the event. Local attorney and chamber member Steve Steinhardt, attorneys Jodi Switalski and Laura Polizzi, and a growing list of people are donating their time and purchasing the meals.

“No one should go hungry during the holidays,” said County Executive Hackel. “In this season of giving, we should all come together and help those who are in need. This Christmas Eve dinner does just that and I am honored to be taking part.”

Steinhardt said that he “was very pleased by how many people have stepped forward to donate their time and resources to help. This is a time of goodwill, peace, and justice. We have a tremendous legal and business community that really looks out for others.”

The organizers are respectfully requesting help in promoting the event to veterans and all people in need.
Any questions can be directed to attorney Stephen Steinhardt at 248-259-8110 or 586-899-1525.
